A young person's natural move towards independence and autonomy is not always a smooth journey. Peers become more influential than ever,  the pressure to succeed in every aspect of life is great and the need to strike the right balance between embracing their own individuality and fitting in at the same time can at the very least be exhausting! Although issues such as depression, self harm, anxiety and bullying can surface during adolescence, it is also a time where creativity, abstract thinking and self reflection develop. Once trust and good rapport are built, therapy would focus on bringing out these qualities to help navigate these obstacles.
