I am Arthi Chicken, a qualified Child and Adolescent Counsellor. I hold a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and an Honours in Psychology with a Certificate in Psychological Practice, qualifying as a Psychologist as well as a Counsellor in Sydney, Australia. I have had additional training in Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I have worked in schools, mental health clinics, community centres and with charitable organisations. Since moving to the UK in 2016, I have worked with both Relate and No Limits. I am a fully registered member of the BACP and therefore adhere to their code of practice, receiving regular supervision and ongoing CPD.
I use a variety of tools in therapy including art-such as drawing, painting or sculpting with clay, writing, puppets, sand tray and picture cards depending on the interests of my clients.
I believe in every client’s capacity for growth, in their abilities to endure hardships and their creativity to solve problems. My role as a therapist is to create an environment of trust and safety, facilitating change and thus making room for resilience.
